Dr Nita Barthakur-Sondhi

Nita has over 20 years of experience advising leading healthcare systems and organizations on strategic affairs, public policy, market access, large-scale transformation and reform programs. A licensed physician with a policy and management degree from Imperial College, London, her most recent role was with APCO within their Healthcare Practice in MENA.

Previously, Nita served as an advisor and head of strategic affairs, policy, and innovation for the office of the head of a regional government in India. In this capacity, she led the development of a critical care health assurance scheme and served as the interim CEO for the region for Ayushman Bharat, the national universal healthcare coverage scheme. Prior to her government role, Nita was a senior management consultant at PwC and KPMG in London for over 12 years.

Leveraging her expertise in operations, strategy, and stakeholder engagement, she supported clients in dynamic strategic and operational landscapes. Driven by a passion for healthcare and patient outcomes, Nita has worked on various mandates, including the NHS, Pharma & life sciences, local government, sustainability, corporate finance, and public policy and advocacy. Her work has spanned across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, involving collaborations with international agencies such as WHO, UNICEF, the European Commission, and various not-for-profit and advocacy organizations. Currently she leads and works with Speyside teams across the world as the Head, Global Healthcare Practice.
