Speyside helped a global pharmaceutical company assess medium-sized oncology patient association groups (PAGs) to identify potential long-term partners. The project mapped 90 PAGs, evaluated their institutional capabilities, and conducted targeted interviews with selected groups. Deliverables included a detailed sector study, quantitative and qualitative data reports, and recommendations for engagement, leading to strong relationships with key regional advocates and expanded partnerships across the country.

Background

A global pharmaceutical company wanted to understand the scenario of civil society associations focused in supporting patients with cancer and in advocating for better oncology scenario.

The company wanted to specially assess medium-sized oncology patient association groups (PAGs) to map potential partners to develop long-term partnership.

Approach

Speyside mapped 90 oncology PAGs developed an assessment to understand their institutional capabilities.

Based on associations’ responses and Speyside score methodology, 10 were selected for a telephone interview, focused in building up a closer relationship and assessment.

Impact

Detailed study on the medium-sized oncology PAGs sector​

Report with quantitative data from 33 PAGs, from all geographic regions of the country; and with qualitative data from 10 PAGs, located in specific regions.​

Report with recommendations on opportunities for companies' engagement with mapped institutions.​

Companies started a very positive relationship with key regional advocates, expanding successful partnership throughout the country.
