Speyside supported a pharmaceutical company in advancing cancer policies in Brazil and facilitating the inclusion of an innovative metastatic melanoma treatment in the public health system (SUS). The work involved regulatory and stakeholder analysis, engagement with decision-makers during CONITEC’s technology incorporation process, and continuous monitoring amid COVID-19 disruptions. These efforts positioned the product as one of the top two treatment options within CONITEC and provided the company with critical insights and ministry connections to support the incorporation process.

Speyside helped a global pharmaceutical company assess medium-sized oncology patient association groups (PAGs) to identify potential long-term partners. The project mapped 90 PAGs, evaluated their institutional capabilities, and conducted targeted interviews with selected groups. Deliverables included a detailed sector study, quantitative and qualitative data reports, and recommendations for engagement, leading to strong relationships with key regional advocates and expanded partnerships across the country.

Speyside worked with a leading rare disease company to design a roadmap for market entry, access, and growth in Hungary and the CEE region. Through stakeholder mapping, policy and regulation analysis, and competitive benchmarking, the project delivered clear, actionable recommendations that transformed the client’s commercial strategy, reduced timelines, and significantly increased the likelihood of achieving public market access.

In 2017, Speyside supported a rare disease pharmaceutical company in introducing an orphan drug for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) into the Brazilian market. The project strengthened patient associations, built relationships with legislators, and facilitated meetings between advocacy groups, regulators, and the Ministry of Health. These efforts led to ANVISA approving the drug less than a year after FDA registration, sparked a public hearing that advanced reimbursement discussions, and united 10 patient advocacy groups under shared action objectives.

Speyside partnered with a global biotech company specializing in rare diseases to raise awareness of the current standard of care and strengthen engagement with patient organizations. The project included stakeholder mapping, workshops, informational sessions, an ambassador program, and tailored communication materials for patients and healthcare professionals. Outcomes included nationwide workshops with patient groups, distribution of strategic materials to key audiences, and the identification of local leaders to coordinate efforts with patient associations.

Between 2021 and 2022, Speyside partnered with a healthcare company in Brazil to analyze stakeholder discussions on CAR-T cell therapy and provide strategic recommendations for its future inclusion in the public health system (SUS). The project involved a literature review, legal and institutional analysis, and interviews with ten key stakeholders. This work resulted in nine strategic action areas, with specific short-, medium-, and long-term recommendations, including a multistakeholder workshop to address bottlenecks in oncologic care.

Speyside has partnered with a global healthcare company since 2019 to track and report key healthcare topics in emerging markets, providing alerts, insights, and engagement recommendations. Through a recurring monitoring system, local teams have been able to anticipate opportunities and risks, align actions, and support affiliates in shaping sentiment, advocating for change, and contributing data to key healthcare discussions.

Speyside helped a global pharmaceutical company build a unified rare diseases narrative across six LATAM countries, creating tailored key messages, a Rare Diseases Index, country reports, and policy recommendations—equipping regional teams to lead strategic conversations and engage key stakeholders effectively.

The project involved analyzing the regulatory landscape, identifying policy gaps, and collaborating with advocacy groups and the scientific community to develop actionable recommendations. Deliverables included a saved lives calculator, communications toolkit, policy report, and a recommendations blueprint to guide future policymaker engagement.
